Neighbors had an Australian Shepherd. This dog barks on & off 24/7 and is left outside 24/7.
Last year, they brought home 2 adorable puppies! Still barking, still annoying, but whatever. Then this past fall/winter, I noticed 2/3 dogs chained to a tree in their backyard.... (context - my bedroom window is huge, faces the front of my house, which faces directly into their backyard)... By 2am, I called the cops because the puppers were screaming, and it was DUMPING rain. Nothing happens, dogs still chained a day or 2 more. The original doggo gets out regularly and everyone in the neighborhood is screaming at it to shut up often.... Nothing happens... I digress.
About 6-8 weeks ago, I notice 3 adorable pups at my door. Obviously the neighbors', I take them home. The elderly woman is screaming at the dogs, kicking at them. At that moment it occurs to me that 1 of the dogs from last year has been missing for awhile! Then I meet a one-street-over neighbor who has had complaints about the barking, screaming, and aggression of these dogs (backyard neighbors). Next day, I notice there are *6 puppies out there*! There is a whole dog fight, screaming puppies, aggressive dogs - and they are feeding them like they are chickens (1 small metal bowl full of food, just tossed out to the mud). We live in Western WA - it's wet here... mud, their once-beautiful yard full of holes. Dogs screaming, neighbors screaming - cops had been here 4 times about these damn dogs.
Okay - this is where I ask "AITA," because sometimes y'all surprise me.I've called animal control.... A LOT. Left several messages. Two days after my last call to them, my neighbor came and asked if I wanted a free puppy (I don't...). They were supposed to have gotten rid of all the dogs a week ago. They are still barking and fighting, crying outside all night, being tossed food, and outside 24/7. And honestly I am sick of not being able to go out my front door without them freakin' tf out. Or sleeping through the night...
AITA for calling AC on my neighbors? And AITA if I call and report AGAIN that the dogs are still there?
(I have a pitty and an Akita, neither bark)
\*\*EDIT\*\* When I say a lot... I mean I have called non-emergency police & animal control 30+ times over the past 2 years....
