My partner (25m) and I (32f) moved in together about 9 months ago. One thing he has discussed with me is if we could help his dad (42m referred to as PD) get off the streets. I had my concerns, but I understood that my partner needed this closure over his dad's "choosing" to be homeless for the last 20 years. So about 4 months ago we started looking for his dad.
During the first 3 months, it was so nice to have PD here. I don't know what has changed in the last month and there are too many examples to list but both my partner and I are feeling disrespected and uncomfortable in our home.
We have unsuccessfully tried to find local homeless support groups so we can educate ourselves on how to better support PD and are at our wit's end.
So WIBTA if I drove him into the city and let him out of the car on some random street and told him to lose our address? My partner is in full agreement with any decision I make.
EDIT: I mbta here because I am not giving PD enough time to make changes.
