Two weeks ago was my sisters birthday where most of my family was in attendance. During the party my brother and I got into talking about recent politics (we’re both pretty left leaning) and our BIL decided to join the conversation. It was pretty light at first but over the course of the conversation we learned that he had voted for our countries far right party in the last election. Both my brother and I were pretty disgusted and found a way to end the conversation quickly. The party ended a couple hours later and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My BIL works for a pretty large tech firm whose made it a priority to help POC and women in the industry.
I couldn’t stand the thought of someone like him working there and the harm he could do. A couple days later I contacted the company to let them know they had a racist and misogynist working for them. They thanked me for the call and I went about my day. Well yesterday I got a call from my sister screaming at me calling me an asshole, telling me BIL had been suspended following investigation. I think I did what was morally right but I don’t know AITA Reddit?
