Before I moved into this house, the fence was already in poor condition. It had been weathered down and was pretty brittle. My dogs have destroyed some fence pickets in my yard connecting to the neighbors and have broke through a couple of times. However, my neighbor has told me many times before that she was planning on replacing the fence. The fence is a community fence but the pickets are on my neighbors side so she would have to replace them. I have offered to pay for damages and have even have offered to pay for half of the fence because of it being a community fence, however every time, she has told me that she wasn’t going to do it quite yet. So, I have been holding off on paying her for the fence but let her know that when she gets to replacing it, that I would pay my half.
Recently she has decided that it was the right time to replace the fence but instead of contacting me asking about my half, she is blasting me online only telling her side of the story… Her friends are now blasting me online as well Though she didn’t mention my name in the post, anyone would know it was me which how much detail she gave and because I’m friends with her online.
I commented on the post about her going behind my back to talk crap about me and not telling my side of the story as well. She replied that I called myself out by replying to the post like that. I told her that she should have direct messaged me in the first place instead of blasting me online and she replied saying that I should have never responded in the first place. AITA?
TLDR; My dogs tore up the fence, I offered to pay for damages and then my neighbor blasted me online for being a bad pet owner.
